We've done two fun investigations in science class lately. One was the egg drop experiment and the other was a seed study. For the egg drop, the students were put into groups to design their protective capsule using a variety of materials available. We dropped their eggs from the height of the top of the door to see how the force of the fall impacted the student-created carrying devices. We also recently studied the life cycle of plants. We examined flower parts and looked at the parts of a seed. Students enjoyed taking off the seed coat and prying open the lima bean seeds to check out the embryo. Science is so much more fun when it's hands-on!
