Hello! My name is Carrie Stammer, and this is my fourth year teaching at CACS. I was born and raised in Green Bay where I attended St. Jude grade school and Notre Dame Academy. I graduated from Marquette University in 2009 with an Honors Bachelor of Arts degree in English literature and elementary education. I spent three years teaching fourth grade at a Catholic school in Peshtigo before coming to CACS. I now live in the Appleton area with my husband, Dan. In my spare time, I enjoy reading and doing crossword puzzles. I absolutely love teaching fourth grade, and I am very excited to be teaching at such a great school like CACS!
FOURTH GRADE OVERVIEW
Fourth grade is a busy year. In math, we use the Math Expressions series where we focus on conceptual understanding of multiplication, division, fractions, and geometry. Our Treasures reading curriculum allows for large-group strategy lessons as well as small-group literature circles. We learn all about our state of Wisconsin in social studies and participate in hands-on, discovery activities in science. The Ten Commandments is a large part of our religion curriculum. We also learn about the rules of grammar, work on cursive handwriting, study spelling words, and participate in various writing projects throughout the year. Lastly, our class partners up with Mrs. Zipperer's 3K class for buddy activities like reading, attending Mass, and doing seasonal craft projects. We have fun while learning lots at the same time!
The Chilton Area Catholic School mission is to educate the
whole person--mind, body, and soul--following the life and
teachings of Jesus Christ and the Catholic Church.
